Asmoke Grills – Best Portable Pellet Grill
We put flavours firstUsing regular charcoal can create a bitter, charred taste on your meats, while propane cannot provide that smoky flavor that you want from grilling food. That is why Asmoke exists. With their line of grills and using 100% natural fruitwood pellets, you can enjoy convenient grilling with no charring while also adding that sweet and light smoked flavor to food.
There’s current hype about Asmoke because it’s a relatively new company, and their grills are becoming more and more popular as we speak. So naturally, we wanted to try it out ourselves.
We purchased three of their grills to see for ourselves if they’re worth the hype. And this is what this review is all about: what we like and what we don’t like about Asmoke’s products.
But first, here is an introduction to the company.

What is Asmoke
And to make grilling and BBQing even more convenient, they decided to produce their very own line of grills that uses wood pellets as a catalyst.
The company came up with a line of portable and heavy-duty grills that meet different needs but have the same features and technologies.

The overall stainless steel construction provides durability, with the lid features insulation quality. The control panel and LED display are found on the left side, while the main cooking area is on the right. The hopper is located on the left, where the pellets are fed into the auger and hot pot found beneath the grill grates.
There are four different colors available for the grills: Tahoe Blue, Pine Green, Apple Red, and Cinder Black.
Products
1. AS300 Pellet Smoker and Grill
We wanted to make grilled beef burgers for lunch and decided to fill up the main cooking area to see how many patties we could fit in. We were able to place eight full patties on the main cooking area and six hotdogs on the secondary rack.
We turned on the power, filled the pellet hopper, and programmed the manual dial to the desired temperature. We waited for 5 minutes for the grill to ignite and another 10 minutes for the grill to come to our desired temperature before placing the patties and hotdogs on the cooking areas.
Our burger patties were cooked in about 10 minutes at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. The result was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked beef patties from the inside out.
While this grill can smoke meat for up to 8 hours, we haven’t tried this feature on this grill yet because we wanted to smoke 3 to 5 kilos of pork ribs, and there’s not much space for it on this grill.
2. AS500N-1 Heavy-Duty Victory Series Grill
It comes with a stand, features a cylindrical shape, and has a 465 square inch cooking area that includes the warming rack. The grill is said to cook enough for up to 8 people with one cooking time.
We wanted to try this grill because, as mentioned earlier, we wanted to smoke 3 to 5 kilos of pork, but the portable grill wasn’t big enough.
We did not use this to grill meat but for its smoking purpose only. We might use it for grilling one of these days.
We set the temperature to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and placed our meat in the main cooking area. We smoked it for 8 hours before turning it off.
One thing about Asmoke’s grills that you should know is that it doesn’t have a timer. We would’ve loved this feature because it would mean we would know we’re already done grilling or smoking.
We had to use the alarm clock on our phones to tell us that 8 hours had passed. If you’re busy doing something else, you might forget the time is already done since this girl doesn’t have a timer or an alarm.
Nevertheless, we think this grill is perfect for smoking ribs. The meat fell off the bone with no effort at all, and the smoky flavor from the Applewood pellets produced a sweet aroma with no bitter charring.
It’s pretty heavy, so I had difficulty moving it from the backyard to our garage for storage, but two people can easily carry it. Overall, this grill is excellent heavy-duty equipment that smokes like a dream.
3. AS660 Series Grill
It has a 25.8-pound hopper capacity, which allowed us to fill many pellets without having to refill them as we served grilled meat to our guests for the rest of the morning.
We didn’t want to limit the food we served to just red meat. We also wanted to serve fish, chicken, and grilled veggies, which we could do with this one grill. We roast two whole chickens, corn cobs on the warming plate, and pork shoulders, all at the same time.
We had a great time cooking with this grill and having a fun get-together with great food. What we did not like, however, was the clean-up after our guests had gone home. Though the AS660 Series is easy to clean, it’s quite heavy and time-consuming.
We had to remove the grill grates, scrape off all the food residue, scrub the grates, throw out the grease bucket that catches all the oil and sauce, and vacuum out the ash.
4. Pellets
They claim their pellets have no fillers, no blends, no additives, and no added flavoring oils. Aside from being all-natural, the Applewood pellets created a unique smoke flavor we haven’t seen before.
Charcoal and other pellets we’ve used before had a charred, smoky flavor added to our meats.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Porcelain Grill Grates for Nonstick Feature
- Durable with Stainless Steel
- Construction
- 8-in-1 Versatility
- Consistent Heating for Even Cooking
- Auto Pellet Reloading Convenience
Asmoke provides a more convenient, healthier, and more accessible way to grill, roast, BBQ, and smoke food. With an automatic pellet reloading system, a LED display for temperature, a programmable meat probe, and porcelain grill grates, we loved how these grills allowed us to cook even, cook fast, and with the Applewood pellets, cook healthy food and tastes delicious.
Cons
- Heavy
- Limitations on Grill Use Location Due to it being Electrically-Powered
These grills are pretty heavy. The portable grill was even heavy for me to carry on my own at 45 pounds. The heavy-duty grills require at least two people to carry and move into storage.
Because the grills are electrically powered, there’s a limitation as to where you can use them. You need to have an extension wire if you’re planning on using them in your backyard or anywhere outdoors.
The Bottom Line
We love how durable and sturdy the grills are, the convenience of the automatic pellet system, the programmable temperature of the chamber, and the meat probe. It’s so easy to use, heats up fast, and offers even heating for uniform cooking.
We do, however, wish the grills had some other features, such as a timer and an alarm to tell you the food has reached its desired temperature or that your smoking time is done.
Besides these two caveats, we think Asmoke’s products provide convenience, great-flavored BBQ, and simplicity of use.
